ABEL PINTOS RELEASES HIS NEW EP 'GRACIAS A LA VIDA'
A tribute to great Latin American songs
Miami, FL (May 23, 2025) – Abel Pintos presented ‘Gracias a la Vida,’ his new EP made up of emotional versions of Latin American music classics that are part of his personal and musical history. With a deep and careful interpretation, Abel pays tribute to those songs that, as he himself expresses, “he would have liked to write.”
This new record includes reinterpretations of great Spanish-speaking authors and artists, marked by Abel’s sensitivity and unique voice. Four singles have already been released: the first was “De repente,” by Soraya; then “Me dediqué a perderte,” a song written by Leonel García, known from the historic version by Alejandro Fernández, now performed together with the duo Ha\*Ash; “Creo en ti,” by Mónica Vélez alongside the Mexican group Reik; and “Eres,” by Café Tacvba.
Through these interpretations, Abel connects with different generations and reaffirms his deep bond with Latin American song, offering a fresh sonic perspective to works that remain alive in the hearts of listeners. The EP opens with “No,” a powerful version of Shakira’s classic, and includes gems like “Soy tuyo,” by Andrés Calamaro, and the unforgettable ‘Gracias a la vida,’ a song by Violeta Parra immortalized by Mercedes Sosa, which gives the EP its title.
“Making versions of songs that I am not the author of feels very natural to me because the first 10 years of my 30-year music career were exclusively as a performer, so I have a particular connection with this kind of songs. They move me as deeply as my own songs,” Abel explains.
‘Gracias a la Vida’ is now available on all digital platforms and will be accompanied by a series of special content on social media, where the artist will share personal stories and the reasons behind the choice of each song.
This EP represents a new chapter in Abel Pintos’ career, where the art of reinterpretation becomes a bridge between emotion and the collective memory of an entire region.
