Regarding this body of work, the legendary songwriter explains: “It’s a very melancholic record. It portrays a very particular and difficult moment in my life, as I went through a very painful separation.” He adds: “It took me two years to make it, because I had to process everything I was experiencing. More than planning an album, it was an act of survival: transforming pain into songs.”

In this context, “Se Me Va” is a ballad that takes us into the nostalgia of a relationship that, despite coming to an end, keeps its affection intact, an effort to honor what was once a great love. The song also invites us to explore the bittersweet feeling of letting someone go while wishing them all the love and peace possible.

In that sense, León shares: “During the breakup process, music saved me. But so did other symbols. For example, I spent two years living with just one suitcase, which I carried between different Airbnbs and hotels. It became a very personal object, because it held not only a few belongings, but also emotions, battles, healing, sadness, and joy.”

To preserve that spirit, the official video for “Se Me Va” features a suitcase as its protagonist, one that transforms into a vessel capable of traveling through the memories of a couple that no longer exists. It serves as a powerful metaphor for everything that romantic relationships store and carry, and how they shape our lives.
