ALEJANDRO FERNÁNDEZ RECIBIRÁ EL PREMIO A LA EXCELENCIA, ACTUARÁ EN VIVO Y CELEBRARÁ MÚLTIPLES NOMINACIONES EN PREMIO LO NUESTRO 2025
Miami, FL (February 3, 2025) – Univisión has announced that regional Mexican music icon Alejandro Fernández will be one of the brightest stars at this year’s 37th edition of Premio Lo Nuestro.
El Potrillo will be honored with the prestigious Premio a la Excelencia award, recognizing his legacy and contributions to contributions to Mexican music and Latino culture. Additionally, Fernández will take the stage for a special live performance during the ceremony, which will take place on February 20 at the Kaseya Center in Miami and will air live on Univision at 7:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM CT.
Alejandro Fernández is also celebrating an impressive five nominations this year, reflecting his immense impact on the music industry and his dedication to excellence. His nominations include:

He is a four-time Latin Grammy winner, most recently taking the 2024 Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album for “Te Llevo en La Sangre”, his 17th studio album. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is part of Billboard’s Hall of Fame and received the Latin AMA’s Icon Award among other recognitions. His latest release of “No Me Se Rajar” landed at #1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican chart; fastest growing genre in the world, breaking the record for the most No1s (eleven) by a soloist this decade.
He made history in 2009 by having three albums debut simultaneously on the Top Ten of Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and is the first artist to have #1 albums in 4 consecutive decades (1990, 2000, 2010, 2020). Alejandro has also made significant strides in the digital music landscape, with an astounding 900 million streams a year on Spotify, a spot in Pandora’s Billionaires Program and a remarkable 8 billion all time views on YouTube. These milestones underscore his enduring popularity and the global reach of his music.
Alejandro has been touring the world for 30+ years, and his fans have been able to experience his live shows in 18 countries across North, South America and Europe. In 2003, he began the annual Fiestas Patrias tradition in Las Vegas and is currently the highest selling soloist of all time in with 22 straight years performing in this city. In his home country of Mexico, he broke the record at the world-famous Plaza de Toros La Mexico, the first and only artist to date to sell out four shows with over 160,000 total fans. Viña del Mar, the biggest Latin festival in the world, has invited him to join the prestigious event 4 times (2001, 2006 , 2015 & 2023).
Fernandez has a long history of helping others through his music and live shows. In 2020, he dedicated his Latin Grammy to the victims of the hurricanes in southern Mexico and donated $1,000,000 MXP to the Mexican Red Cross. In 2023, he joined Teleton Mexico to support victims after catastrophic hurricane Otis in Acapulco. Later that same year, Alejandro was recognized by the US Congress for four decades of his contributions to Mexican music and Latino culture. It also recognized Fernández as a humanitarian for the long-lasting impact he has made beyond his music worldwide. The international artist has been instrumental in uplifting and uniting the Latino community through donating his time, resources, and art.
This year he was one of the first Latin artists to step up and donate money to the LA Fire Department during the devastating fires that took over Los Angeles, a place he calls a second home.
