Pablo Preciado was the one who began building this dream, initially placing his songs with established artists. Later, he introduced Román Torres to the record label—a co-writer of many songs and longtime singing partner. The duo alone was already a raw diamond, but the brilliance intensified with the inclusion of Melissa Robles, a young singer discovered after posting a video online covering a Carlos Rivera song, which instantly won the hearts of thousands in just a few days.
That’s how the story began, and everything unfolded perfectly. With the wind at their backs, Matisse launched their career with Sube, an album that deeply resonated with listeners, evoking sighs, tears, and smiles from those who gave them a chance. From this debut, standout tracks such as La Misma Luna, Más que Amigos, and Si Fuera Fácil emerged—the latter written by Pablo Preciado, and performed live at the 2015 Latin Grammy Awards when the group received their first nomination for “Best New Artist.”
Over the past 10 years, Matisse has proven their strength and musical talent, becoming one of the most prominent pop groups of the moment. Their ability to innovate within the genre in both Mexico and Latin America has led to collaborations with top artists in the industry.
Among their most notable hits are Sé Que Te Vas (a duet with Ha*Ash, with whom they’ve shared the stage multiple times), Todavía, Acuérdate de Mí, Por Tu Bien, Eres Tú with Reik, Primer Avión with Camilo, and Imposible Amor with Guaynaa.
Later, driven by a desire to reconnect with their roots—and with all three members hailing from northern Mexico—they ventured into Regional Mexican music, quickly establishing themselves as visionary artists in the genre. Their unexpected yet highly successful collaboration with Carín León, Como Lo Hice Yo, earned them a Latin Grammy for Best Regional Mexican Song, sparking the release of their genre-shifting album De Norte a Sur. This album features duets with iconic artists such as Intocable, Edén Muñoz, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Bronco, Codiciado, and Juan Ingaramo.
Today, Matisse returns to their origins with the release of Bella Nostalgia, a studio album that takes listeners back to the era when pop was a cultural banner of change in Mexico and Latin America. Tracks like No Disponible, 24/7, and their latest #1 radio hit Mantra featuring Pedro Capó, signal a fresh start for the group. They now present themselves as an act aware of the industry’s evolution and their role within it, inspiring audiences and fellow artists to champion a music movement driven by genuine inspiration, one that nurtures a more conscious and enriched society through art.
