PATY CANTÚ HONORS THE FREEDOM AND ORIGINALITY OF THE LGBTIQ+ COMMUNITY WITH HER NEW SINGLE “SÍ, PERO NO”
Miami, FL (May 15, 2025) – Since the beginning of her career, Paty Cantú has considered herself an ally of the LGBTIQ+ community. Now, through her single “Sí, Pero No,” the singer-songwriter pays tribute to their struggle, freedom, creativity, and originality—free from taboos and prejudice.
According to Paty Cantú, “Sí, Pero No” is about devouring life, believing in yourself, being your most special version, and expressing yourself freely. She adds, “It’s meant to remind those people I admire and respect that the message has always been—and still is—that you weren’t made to fit in; you were made to stand out.”
For this song, the singer-songwriter collaborated with Miky Mendoza, Oscar Mont, Ángela Dávalos, Quique Galdeano, and Edgar Vizcarra, whose unique voices brought an authentic vision to the track.
One of the most iconic elements of the release is its official music video, which features special appearances by legendary drag queens such as La Bogue, La Prohibida, and Taiga Brava—artists who have helped elevate drag culture in Mexico and beyond.
“My hope is that this song provokes, brings visibility, entertains, and celebrates this community, but really, anyone can claim this song to feel empowered—there’s no gender and no closed doors for anyone,” said the singer, who co-produced the single alongside Just Roger, Miky Mendoza, and Oscar Mont.
“In a world where everything feels like a copy, I wanted to highlight that there are extraordinary people who inspire us. Can we be like them? Yes, but no,” said the Guadalajara-born artist, who emphasizes through this song that while we can admire others, the true magic of humanity lies in our unrepeatable individuality.
