The long-awaited release of EL AYER arrives alongside the single “HIPOTÉTICAMENTE,” a duet with Leonel García
MATISSE will return on March 6 to one of Mexico’s most iconic stages: the Auditorio Nacional
Miami, FL (February 2, 2026) — With one foot in nostalgia but firmly rooted in the taste of new generations and captivating increasingly wider audiences wherever they go, MATISSE presents ‘EL AYER,’ their new studio album.
Across 11 tracks, EL AYER consolidates MATISSE’s talent for crafting memorable songs with emotive melodies and direct yet profound lyrics. A style that positions the Mexican trio as one of the most influential groups in contemporary national pop, thanks to their unmistakable vocal harmonies, lyrical sensitivity, and ability to blend genres naturally.
From this new album, the standout single “HIPOTÉTICAMENTE” was recorded in a very special duet alongside Leonel García. The song is a nostalgic blow straight to the heart, telling the story of what could not be, yet what we continue to dream about as we long for a lost love.
“HIPOTÉTICAMENTE” features an emotional music video in which we see Melissa, Pablo, and Román sharing a table with Leonel. Together, the “what if…” has never sounded so heartbreaking.
“HIPOTÉTICAMENTE” is part of ‘EL AYER,’ an album filled with melancholy for past loves, everyday moments, and a life that once seemed perfect. Undoubtedly, a collection of songs ideal for broken hearts and for dedicating when we hit rock bottom and only music saves us.
The group recently added another milestone to their career by performing on the stage of Premio Lo Nuestro, where they were nominated in the Group or Duo of the Year category. During their performance, the trio reunited with one of the icons of Spanish-language pop, Cristian Castro, with whom they performed “Conmigo Sin Ti,” a track that is also part of ‘EL AYER’ and has become one of the new fan favorites.
The single with Cristian debuted at #61 on Spotify MX’s Top 200 in its first week of release. And the video, in which we can see them in the studio, has already surpassed 12M views on YouTube.
In addition, the album includes gems such as “No,” MATISSE’s reinterpretation of the Shakira classic, as well as recent singles like “Cómo Duele.” But beyond the great ballads, the album also features irresistible pop tracks like “Aplauso,” alongside Oscar Ortiz.
